Yesterday evening was the Reception and Artist’s Talk with Maggie Meiners and we had a great turnout!
Maggie spoke about her work in the gallery and fielded questions from students and faculty alike.
One of the big reasons we have these receptions and talks is to give students a chance to interact with practicing artists, to put a person behind (or in front of) the work and allow for a richer and deeper engagement with the work. Of course there are always refreshments too, but we hope the real draw is the work and the artist of course!
Students, please feel free to email us with ideas or comments regarding what things you might like to see happen with our galleries, exhibits and receptions. These are for you, the campus community and the surrounding community as well and we want to do our best to always improve what we are doing and make it relevant.
